HOW TO EARN YOUR BACHELOR'S DEGREE

Our rolling admissions policy allows you to start film school at
the New York Film Academy and start earning credits towards a BA.
Please see terms and conditions below.

Applications for JANUARY 2010 are currently being accepted.
* The New York Film Academy is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), the only accrediting body for visual art programs recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

All transcripts and credits for New York Film Academy programs and workshops are processed and awarded by our West Coast headquarters at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, California.

Through the New York State Board of Regents' National PONSI Program (www.nationalponsi.org), the New York Film Academy carries college credit recommendations to over 1500 colleges and universities.

Option I: Bachelor's Degree at an Affiliated University
The New York Film Academy is working with a growing number of universities to allow students to earn bachelor's degrees in conjunction with courses taken at the New York Film Academy. Currently there are arrangements of this kind in place that are described below:

New School - New York City, New York
St John's University - New York City, New York
New York Institute of Technology - New York
Antioch University Los Angeles - Los Angeles, California
Nova Southeastern University - Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Charter Oak State College - New Britain, Connecticut
Lynn University - Boca Raton, Florida

Option II: Transfer of Credit to a bachelor's degree program
Credits earned in any of our film school programs may be submitted to any college or university in the United States for transfer credit. All Transcripts and college credits are processed and issued solely by the New York Film Academy’s academic headquarters at Universal Studios, California. No additional per credit fee is required.

Every university has its own credit transfer policy. New York Film Academy cannot guarantee that credits earned will be accepted. If possible, students should request the credit transfer policy from their school of choice before the transfer process commences. You may consult the credit table below for an idea of how many credits may be transferred.

All of the programs at the New York Film Academy are accredited for a specific number of credits (please click here to see credit table). For example, the One-Year Filmmaking Program is a 39-credit course, which amounts to more than a year of study at any university. The one year program has a rolling admissions policy and is offered starting four times a year.

For detailed information about the BA program you may contact Michael Young or David Klein, NEW YORK FILM ACADEMY at ba@nyfa.com or call them at 212-674-4300.
